Gypsy Horse Registries:

How to pick a registry? Answer these questions.
1. What do the by-laws say about the registry? Are the by-laws member friendly?
2. What does the organization do for its members? What are the benefits and where are monies spent?
3. How quickly does the organization process registration applications, and other communication strategies?
4. Are core informational pieces readily available on the association web site, such as BOD names and contacts, financial, DNA information?
5. Does the association skew its marketing pieces to spotlight its leadership horses and farms?

The Gypsy Horse Association: My preferred registry is the GHS Association because the by-laws are written for members. I have found this organization to be the most current with data and information managed in a more professional way than the other registries.

Gypsy Horse Registry of America

The Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association

The Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (GB)

Gypsy Vanner Horse Association: We do not endorse the GVHS because their mission is to divide the horses, by a marketing scheme that places a higher price tag on the same horses that have the same bloodlines and same DNA registered in the other registries. The only difference is the name "Vanner". My ethical commitment is to the owner / buyer. There is no reason to pay more for a horse just because it is labeled "Vanner" - "Vanner" is the name of the registry not the name of the horses.
