I first rode a Gypsy horse when I was a child, but didn't take up the sport seriously until I was 37 years of age. I tried many different breeds, and enjoyed it — up to a point. I can't tell you how many times I have been bitten and kicked. I've even been thrown by horses repeatedly, and once I cracked two ribs in a hard fall. These were painful experiences, and the idea of putting my young daughter on one of these large beasts and teaching her to ride made me quite nervous. I was just about ready to give up on the sport...until I received my first Gypsy horse as a gift from my husband. After that, I was hooked. Because of their intelligence, gentle disposition, and beauty, Gypsy horses have rekindled in me a deep and passionate love of riding. Moreover, I feel no qualms about letting my young daughter be around any of our Gypsy horses.

Our farm is located on 8 beautiful acres in a lush, green corner of northern New Jersey. With a mix of woodland and paddocks, there are plenty of turnouts for our Gypsy horses to graze. The animals are housed in a spacious, well-lit, 12-stall barn that can only be described as state-of-the-art, with hot and cold running water, special birthing stalls, and even a heated floor. This makes this a perfect facility for breeding these fine Gypsy horses. There are both indoor and outdoor arenas, so the Gypsy horses can be worked year-round. In addition, we often use outside trainers that are available for on-site consultation.

Blarney Stone Acres is a private facility, open for visits by interested buyers by appointment only.
